          In 2019 I opened this shop with the help of my husband and two daughters. It was my thought that the community would appreciate a place that sold useful household and gift items with great design and an eco-conscious sentiment.

          The items that I choose for my store are inspired by our motto, “Old Fashioned Sensibilities with a Modern Mission.” Unlike online stores, you can walk into our friendly Kaimuki brick-and-mortar and find a thoughtfully curated space with a wide variety of sustainable merchandise that come from many unique makers and places around the world. My priority is to offer plastic-free alternatives to lifestyle items, emphasizing natural materials and aesthetic appeal.

 

         More and more we are learning that our impact as humans in our natural world directly relates to our health and that of our communities, and our planet. We need to do better!

          Most of the companies that we work with are women or family owned and operated. Many things are handmade, made in small batches, and/or unavailable on Amazon.com. You can be sure that I take the packaging of our orders and products into account. Many of the companies I’ve chosen to work with choose to use compostable, recycled, or up-cycled materials to package their products. I’ve also been successful working with some of the companies to reduce or eliminate their plastic packaging for our orders. 

 

         You would also be pleased to know that several of these companies make monetary donations to non-profit organizations that do social good. 

 

         It’s my hope that our small local shop brings this awareness to our physical and virtual community.
